We see LOADS of theatre: broadway, off-broadway, off-off-broadway, independent, well-funded, etc. In all honesty, there were big chunks of time I spent simply exploring, rather than following any actors, and I'm SO glad I did. I was blown away by the nuanced performances and level of detail. You can easily indulge your curiosity, play the voyeur and still be respectful of the space and the actors. Don't do yourself the disservice of being timid. The company really utilizes the senses so beautifully, it is a pleasure. Look through drawers, open books, get close to the performers, peek in suitcases, and breathe deeply. We were only a few back in line, and got into the "hotel" quickly.Ĥ) Let yourself be bold in your exploration. But we queued up at around 10:45 for entry at 11pm, and that was perfect. Our show was at 11:15 we arrived at 10-WAY too early on a chilly night. Although you won't get in early, all the additional waits can add up if you're at the back of the line. There are loads of lines to check your jacket ($3 each), pick up tickets, get into the performance space, etc. That night, we debriefed and were amazed to hear how different our experiences had been.ģ) Get there about 30 minutes before entry. My partner and I did just that, and though we ran into each other a number of times throughout the evening, it was fantastic losing ourselves in whichever storyline appealed most. We both opted for sneakers, and were SO happy we did!Ģ) If you go with someone, or several someones, make an agreement at the beginning to explore on your own. You want to be fully free to move about, run up and down stairwells, and navigate through dimly lit areas.
